A BUTCH GAL THAT HAD STARS IN HER EYES.
FAN? STALKER? ESTHER'S LOVE FOR THE THEATRE IS DISPLAYED HERE AS WELL AS OTHER FLOTSAM FROM ESTHER'S PRIVATE WORLD, A GLIMPSE OF 1950s GAY LIFE.
I didn't know Esther well. She was a friend of friends. After she passed away, there was a box filled with snapshots she'd taken. Many were recognizable theatre celebs of long ago. Other photos were of her and others. Some photos had inscriptions on the reverse, which I've noted. Others had nothing. This box was destined for the trash bin. I saved it.

Any ideas?

the scenery piece they stand in fron of says "Vinton Freedly" a well-known producer of the 1930s/40s
thanks for the info! i probably have been remiss in not writing that many of these photos were snapped in shubert alley, boston...so the scenery makes perfect sense.
